Enjoy and learn something from this interview.

1)What kind of business do you have? What inspired you to become an
Entrepreneur business owner?
Core business is the supply of aromatherapy and spa products to spas,
hotels, beauty/spa training schools and freelance therapists. The drive for
empowerment and self fulfillment inspires me.

2)Did you need to have a certain mindset to achieve success?
Need to be able to accept challenges, take risks, daring, willing to learn
and most importantly step outside of your comfort zone.
3)Have you noticed certain advantages to being an entrepreneur business
owner?
For me the advantages are - I am very involved in all aspects of decision
making (empowerment), flexibility of time, I reap what I sow, and there has
never been job dissatisfaction despite long hours.
4)Is it difficult to get financing for businesses? If so why and are there
any solutions?
Yes it will be difficult if the business model is a traditional set up and
is not yet/very profitable during the application for financing. More
opportunities for financing if the business idea is something new that fits
a need/void in the market or it has shown some profitability.
5)Did you have a mentor to help you get started?
No, more of advice from people who are/have been in business.
6)Approximately how much money did you invest before your business became
profitable?
$50,000
7)What resources were most helpful to you when you were starting your
business?
The internet
8)What ways have you found to be most effective in marketing your product
or service to get sales?
With a good, quality product, follow through all sales opportunities with
sincerity, do business with integrity leads to great referrals.
9)What tips can you give others who want to embrace their dream but, don’t
have the confidence or feel they don’t have what it takes to succeed?
Listen and learn from those who have been in business, including those that
have succeeded and failed. Make a judgement call and observe how they do/did
business – what qualities do those who succeed have in comparison to those
who failed. Learn from other’s mistakes. Know that if you don’t have it, you
can acquire it – be it knowledge or character building.
10)How do you manage juggling the responsibilities of being a entrepreneur?
Still work in progress. Prioritizing is important. Identify what you are
best at and focus your efforts. Example if I am good at sales, I should
spend valuable time doing more “profit making” work then spend time updating
expenses sheet. Leave that to others to help you out.
11)What’s next for you?
Diversify to include more range of items to supply the same market– related
items such as customized bath robes, spa accessories and decorative items
such as candle holders, lamps, bowls, trays. They need to be different from
those easily available in the market.
