Here is another cabaran 101010 family or entrepreneurs will be sharing about her journey as well views and tips. We will surely learn from this post ….. Introducing DIL ISMAIL from Crafting Luxury LLP

Here for you all my respected readers…Dil Ismail

1) What kind of business do you have? What inspired you to become an Entrepreneur business owner?

– I am Dil from Crafting Luxury LLP and I am a soft furnishing designer and currently running my own business from home. My business, Crafting Luxury, provides quality sewing services at competitive rates by giving quality workmanship in every handmade creation / soft furnishing specially crafted and designed exclusively for pure indulgence and luxury living. I also conduct sewing classes on Soft Furnishings and Quilting.

I decided to embark on this entrepreneurship journey mainly because running my own business allows me the flexibility to be with my family and at the same time earn extra income by utilising my skills to good use.

2)Did you need to have a certain mindset to achieve success?

To achieve success, one must have a positive mindset and a strong will to survive as the entrepreneurship journey is not as easy as it seems. I personally love this quote by Henry Ford that goes-“ If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.” This quote often serves as a reminder whenever I feel like I could not go on and the thought of giving up sets in.

3)Have you noticed certain advantages to being an entrepreneur business owner?

One of the advantages of being an entrepreneur is that, as mentioned, allows me the freedom to work from home and this enables me to keep an eye on my children and manage my home at the same time. I have learnt to manage time more efficiently ever since.

Entreprenurship also allows me to be a lifelong learner as I am able to learn many skills that I would not have learnt in school.

4)Did you have a mentor to help you get started?

Currently I do not have a mentor who is in the same trade as I am. However I have sought advice from other reliable mentors from other trades to guide me in terms of managing my business as a whole.

5)Approximately how much money did you invest before your business became profitable?

I have spent less than a thousand dollars to start my business and have it registered with ACRA early this year.

6)What ways have you found to be most effective in marketing your product or service to get sales?

One of the most effective way to market my product or service is through word of mouth where existing clients or students would refer me to their friends and family. Another way proven effective for my business is through collaborating with other business owners where we can help one another boost our sales and get our services known.

7)What tips can you give others who want to embrace their dream but, don’t have the confidence or feel they don’t have what it takes to succeed?

I personally believe that everyone has a special mission in this life and as humble servants of Allah we are placed on this earth to realise our full potential. Although entrepreneurship is a long and winding road, we must not be afraid to tread it as the rewards can be very satisfying.

8)What’s next for you?

I hope to inspire more women, especially mothers like me, to step forward and realise their inner passion and maximise their abilities to the fullest. Personally I wish to take my business to the next level by training more people who wish to start a career in soft furnishing by conducting sewing classes and workshops for those who are interested.
