  1. What kind of business do you have? What inspire you to become an entrepreneur?

I am selling traditional Malay stuffs such as capal,baju kurung and telekung.

  1. Did you need to have a certain mindset to achieve success?

Of course. In order for a plant to grow well,we need to know the best fertilisers. Same goes to business,where we need to have good strategies to make this work.

  1. Have you notice a certain advantages to being an entrepreneur?

Yes,there is. From my opinion,since I am working in Arab Street,there are a lot of advantages. Customers not only come from the Malays but a wide variety of them are also made up Japanese,Chinese,Africans and Caucasians. They will usually buy these items for gifts or for themselves as memoirs.

  1. Is it difficult to get financing for businesses? If so, why and are there any solutions?

There is never a shortage of money issues since I am running a small business. In the early stages of opening this shop,there were shortages in investment money but because of experience and family support,the business starts to soar.

  1. Did you have a mentor to help you get started?

Not really a mentor. However,there is someone who helped me opened this stall like my children and my son in law. Since they are busy with work and life, I handled everything myself.

  1. Approximately how much money did you invest before your business became profitable?

Not much. For my business,i do not need much money.

  1. What ways have you found to be most effective in marketing your product or service to get sales?

Hmm. Word of mouth. The constant flow of customers along my shop.

  1. What tips can you give others who want to embrace their dream but, don’t have the confidence or feel they don’t have what it takes to succeed?

We have to have confidence in ourself,control your spendings. And the most importantly,get as much experience about business.

  1. How do you manage juggling the responsibilities of being an entrepreneur?

Not really difficult. I have to make sure there is still stocks available.

  1. What’s next for you?

Currently,i am very happy and satisfied with the business that I am running here at Arab Street. Therefore,i am not thinking of expanding my business for now.
